Auto come la Mercedes 230 CE sono state costruite in modo solido e duraturo e sono fatte per durare; non è raro sentire di proprietari irriducibili che ottengono chilometraggi stratosferici da esemplari ben mantenuti, percorrenze considerevoli che iniziano con un due e in alcuni casi anche con un tre.
È risaputo che negli anni Ottanta Mercedes-Benz ha investito somme colossali nello sviluppo dei prodotti (l'intero costo di sviluppo della Jaguar XJ40, per esempio, non era molto distante da quello speso da Mercedes solo per le sospensioni posteriori della 190E) e la serie 124, nelle sue varie versioni, sta superando egregiamente la prova del tempo.
Varie versioni? Sì, esistevano molte versioni diverse. Il nome W124 viene spesso utilizzato come termine generico, ma in realtà si riferisce solo alle berline, molte delle quali sono ancora in servizio come taxi in tutta Europa e non solo. Nella gamma sono presenti anche le S124 estates, le A124 cabriolet, le V124 limousine e, cosa più importante per i nostri interessi, le C124 coupé.
Con un assale posteriore multilink e un coefficiente di resistenza aerodinamica estremamente basso, si trattava di auto realizzate con tutti i crismi. E la coupé era un capolavoro: dall'esterno appariva relativamente compatta e sportiva, ma conservava uno spazio interno impressionante, da berlina, e naturalmente tutti ciò che ci si aspettava.
In particolare, l’esemplare qui proposto è proposto nell’elegante antracite metallizzato con interni in pelle nera e si leggono sul contachilometri circa 190.000 km.

Cars like the Mercedes 230 CE have been built solidly and durably and are made to last; It's not uncommon to hear owners getting stratospheric mileages from well-maintained examples, huge numbers starting with a two or maybe even a three.
It is well known that in the 1980s Mercedes-Benz invested colossal sums in product development (the entire development cost of the Jaguar 124 series, in its various versions, is passing the test of time admirably.
Various versions? Yes, there were many different versions. The name W124 is often used as a generic term, but it actually refers only to sedans, many of which are still in service as taxis throughout Europe and beyond. Also in the range are S124 estates, A124 cabriolets, V124 limousines and, most importantly for our interests, C124 coupés.
With a multilink rear axle and an extremely low drag coefficient, these were well-built cars. And the coupé was a masterpiece: from the outside it appeared relatively compact and sporty, but it retained impressive interior space, like a sedan, and of course everything one expected.
In particular, the example proposed here is offered in the elegant metallic anthracite with black leather interior and approximately 190,000 km can be read on the odometer.
